Accessibility
Where we are on accessibility.
We aim for WCAG 2.2 level AA across makr.ai. Here's what we've checked, what's in place and what still falls short. If something gets in your way, write to info@makr.ai.

What we aim for
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA: the standard most accessibility reviews measure against. It covers the website, the app and, over time, the work makr.ai makes for you.
On October 9, 2026 we ran axe-core's WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 A and AA checks on the home page (both paths), pricing, a blog post, the legal pages and this page, on phone and desktop, in light and dark mode, and went through them with a keyboard. Automated tools catch roughly a third of real problems, so we treat them as a floor, not a pass.
What's in place
On the public pages we checked: the home page, pricing, the blog, the legal pages and this one.
- Keyboard
- A skip link comes first on every page. Links and buttons show a visible focus ring. The phone menu keeps focus inside it while it's open and gives it back when it closes.
- Motion
- With “reduce motion” turned on in your device settings, the home page's animations stop and its background film doesn't load. Otherwise the film has a pause button.
- Video and audio
- The Keepsake trailer has captions, made from the trailer's own edit. The audio drama shows its full script beside the player. Each podcast on the home page has its transcript under the player (“Read the transcript”).
- Reading
- Every page declares its language and zoom is never locked. Small text and buttons meet 4.5:1 contrast, and small labels you can press are at least 12 px.
- Images
- Images have text descriptions. Purely decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Touch
- Buttons and controls are at least 24 px across; most are 44 px.
What isn't there yet
- The signed-in app (chat, makr.studio and the editors) hasn't had a full keyboard and VoiceOver pass yet. That's next.
- We haven't yet checked the pieces makr.ai makes for you (decks, websites, emails, videos) against WCAG.
- Some small uppercase labels with wide letter spacing are hard to read.
- The home page's first load is about 8.4 MB, which is slow on older phones and limited data plans.
- “Loading your workspace…” comes first in the home page's HTML. We're checking that screen readers don't announce it to signed-out visitors.
Tell us about a problem
If a page, the app or something makr.ai made doesn't work for you, email us. Say which page or piece, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser and any assistive technology you use. These reports decide what we fix next.
